Individual Biographies:
Anton F. Shafer, President
In the summer of 1992, Anton decided he would implement the skills that his father taught him and start a deck building business of his own. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Colorado-Boulder, and is a 1981 graduate of the University of Colorado Graduate School of Banking at Boulder. He was a part of the Denver banking community for over 40 years. Owning and operating The Deck Company is his true passion which can be seen in his attention to detail in every step of the project. Over the years, he has taken The Deck Company to new heights with his superior business skills and vast knowledge of deck design and construction.
Robert Schmidt, Vice President/ Construction Manager
A 2004 graduate of Metropolitan State College School of Professional Studies, Robert brings a wealth of construction knowledge and experience to the team and functions as our Construction Manager. As a licensed contractor, he has gained the technical prowess, as well as, the onsite expertise, to help ensure that all trades are installing their products professionally and up to current code requirements. In addition to his responsibilities as Construction Manager, he manages all other subcontractors that work with us from time to time, which allows The Deck Company to be a true "turn-key" operation.
Sharon Shafer, Secretary/ Office Manager
Sharon has 30 years of extensive office management expertise that she brings to The Deck Company. She is responsible for all initial contacts with potential and current clients. She coordinates appointments, schedules, and directs a variety of construction activities.
