The Deck Company was established in 1992 as a family owned and operated corporation, specializing in custom built decks for less price than their competitors.  In the past years, the company has grown and flourished. Specializing in the design and the solid construction of wooden structures.  The Deck Company has stood the test of time. 

Still owned and operated by the same family.  The Deck Company  today has grown to multiple two man crews, a sales team, and an office team, and was featured on the DIY Network TV show Trade School, showcasing deck construction. Although still quite small, The Deck Company today averages 25-50 decks in a season.  We specialize in customer service and strive to continue to satisfy our clients on a daily basis. We design and conceptualize an outdoor custom built environment that will not only add value to your home, but also your lifestyle.

Individual Biographies:

Anton F. Shafer, CEO

Anton always enjoyed deck building with his father during the summer months while growing up.  He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Colorado - Boulder.  He is a Graduate of the University of Colorado Graduate School of Banking in Boulder.  He has been a part of the Denver banking community for over 40+ years.  He brings business expertise to The Deck Company. Bank accounts, balancing the books, business planning, and of course maintaining good client relationships are all a part of his daily responsibilities.  Anton’s experience as Executive Vice President and Loan Officer at Premier Bank of Denver, gives him a unique perspective of the needs of customers when financing their decks.  He put together a financing package that has been well received by our customers.

Anton A. Shafer "Tony", President and Architect

Tony was 16 years old when the company started in 1992, he started on one of the deck building carpentry crews.  Since that time, Tony has received his Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Colorado - Boulder, and his Master of Architecture from the University of Colorado - Denver.  He presently is a licensed architect in the state of Colorado.  He believes that each deck should be custom designed to the needs of the clients, resulting in a new, unique, and special project everytime The Deck Company gets involved. 

Tony works on the structural and aesthetic aspects of deck design, resulting in an unmatched strength and beauty that no other competitor has to offer. Tony also started a Historic renovation company named F.A.I.T. Homes, LLC in 2005.  F.A.I.T.
